"Timeshare Fans" Program Launched by American Resort Development Association
Timeshare Owners Rave About Vacations
And so do nearly 8 million timeshare owners. The American Resort Development Association (ARDA) is partnering with its members to bring the passion of owners to other vacationers through its “Timeshare Fans” Program. These Fans will explain – in their own words – why they love their timeshare.
The program will showcase owners from different resorts each month – through video, photos and blogs – to bring a clear picture of what timeshare offers and why it truly is a better way to vacation. In this kick-off month, Holiday Inn Club Vacations spoke to several of its owners at its Orange Lake Resort in Orlando, Florida. One couple, Constance and Kirkwood Edwards, from Freeport, Bahamas, have been owners for 17 years and vacation annually with their family in Orlando.
“Coming to this resort is a vacation within itself; you never have to leave the property,” said Constance Edwards. “We love the vast amenities, like the pools, clubhouse, fitness center and game room.”
With a satisfaction rate of 85 percent and an occupancy rate that outpaced hotel occupancy by more than 20 percent*, it is clear that this segment of the travel industry is faring well. Take the time to find out why. Visit www.VacationBetter.org for more information.
Timeshare and vacation ownership are often used as interchangeable terms. Timeshare may be purchased through deeded property ownership, right-to-use or a points-based program. Owners purchase a villa, usually in one-week increments, within a fixed (same week each year) or “floating” system. Floating time allows the owner to schedule each year’s vacation for the desired week within a specified season. Vacation ownership may also be used to describe the three main options of shared use: timeshare, fractionals, and private residence clubs.
