82% of Timeshare Owners Still Vacationing, Despite Economic Woes

Nearly 82% of timeshare owners continue to travel and use their annual, pre-paid vacation products despite the tough economic climate, according to an industry survey conducted by ARDA. This is a significant difference in travel habits when compared to the findings in a recent USA Today/Gallup Poll where only half of Americans polled planned to keep their travel plans this summer because of the recession and affordability of paying for a vacation.

Timeshare owners benefit from not only the pre-paid nature of the products but also the benefits of regular vacationing. Experts and recent studies agree that investing in a vacation means investing in your personal health and overall well-being. The ARDA study, completed at the end of 2008 and again at the end of 2009 Q1, found occupancy rates held steady at nearly 82% with a satisfied and loyal customer base.
